July 12, 2019. The session started with Coach Karla explaining to the children that Taekwondo skills are to be used to protect their Mommies and Daddies, their siblings, friends, classmates, teachers and yayas. They are only to use their "powers" to fight the bad guys. "Do you understood?" asked Coach Karla.  "Yes, Ma'am!" was their reply.

The Sarah Arellano Taekwondo team of Taekwondo Masters came to visit us at CLC to give an interactive demonstration to the children. Coaches Karla, Brent and Bryan worked gently but firmly with the kids. They taught them how to show respect to their coaches, how to do the fighting stance, how to punch, kick and duck.

 All the kids had fun!

It was such a pleasure to watch our students respond to the commands being given and we watched with awe and amusement as the children attempted more complicated maneuvers (punch, duck, jump).

Even our littlest tries her hand in being a warrior princess!

Taekwondo is a martial art with Korean origins and provides many benefits for people of all ages, including children. It develops the body’s physical capabilities as well as core values that develop the character of children. It promotes confidence, concentration, self-control and respect for others. It's also a great way to channel the boundless energy of children!

The Sarah Arellano Taekwondo school will be offering classes at CLC. A member of the Philippine Taekwondo Association, this team of instructors is composed of awarded and ranked athletes.  They are experienced coaches who teach in various local and international schools and have taught students as young as 2.5 years old.
